700 submissions

Filmmakers from all over the world submitted around 700 short films with a total length of 200 hours during this time. Each film receives at least four evaluations from the pre-selection team. This initially means 800 hours of voluntary viewing work.

Afterwards, the programme commission meets to decide on the programme for all competitions at the festival locations in Kaufbeuren, Kempten and Immenstadt by the beginning of July. The programme selection is a lengthy process in which many opinions are sought in order to be able to offer as broad a programme as possible.

In July, the supporting programme for the two festival weeks from 2 to 16 October will also be announced.
