COURAGE by director Aliaksei Paluyan is a tribute to all those who do not look away and fight for their convictions and a free, self-determined life in dignity and democracy. The recent events in the middle of Europe are not the first to show how little this can be taken for granted.
Through his protagonists Maryna, Pavel and Denis, the director shows the dramatic events surrounding the presidential elections in Belarus in August 2020.
The artists from the underground movement Free Theatre for Belarus have left the country in the meantime. How other team members and relatives who remained are faring, we may find out from Aliaksei Paluyan in the subsequent film discussion.
