Our Austria Special starts with a swinging musical as a parody of filmmaking and the hurdles of becoming a director: PESKADOR SINGT WAS VOR (6 min).

It continues with a mad comedy about the musicologist Szabo in DIE SCHWINGEN DES GEISTES (29 min). The plot revolves around a rare record and an escaped parrot. The film is one of filmzeit's audience favourites.

Diversity and discrimination are the themes of IM BESTEN ORCHESTER DER WELT (15 min), however humorously delivered. Ingbert Socke wants to become a concert musician.

After the interval, the grand finale is a black comedy and also a favourite of the audience in Kaufbeuren. DAS BEGRÄBNIS DES HARALD KRAMER (29 min) takes us to a mortuary. Seemingly dead, the respectable father and husband Harald gets a first-hand experience of his own funeral.
