Awards

Bears in Berlin, lions in Venice and hares in the Allgäu − the filmzeit trophy Blasi is distantly reminiscent of a chocolate bunny.
The trophies of the DACHfilmzeit and Filmzeit International jury prizes are made of solid metal and were designed by our festival founder, the painter and sculptor Roman Harasymiw.
Since 2021, all other prize winners receive a smaller coloured bunny in addition to the prize money; at the Kaufbeuren competitions a pink coloured version is awarded, at the competitions in Kempten and Immenstadt Blasi is green.
The trophy is named after Saint Blasius, a versatile patron saint who is said to protect against throat diseases, the plague, but also against hurtful words. Perhaps he can also be of help against other dangers with pandemic proportions.
