Festival location 2023: Stadttheater Kaufbeuren
Film culture is highly regarded in the Allgäu. Many cinemas in our region are committed to and also rewarded for it – for instance when the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF Bayern) award cinemas for outstanding programmes.
What is missing in the film houses are short films, which nonetheless, as director Martin Farkas, who grew up in Kempten, says, are special jewels of film culture. That's why filmzeit, the Allgäu authors' film festival from Kaufbeuren, was founded in 2008.
